Sensitive classification standards
Rules for political, religious, and other reputation-sensitive labels in the public directory.
Kintrae should avoid sensitive labels unless there is a clear public source, a useful directory purpose, and a correction path.
Version 0.1 · 23 September 2026
Evidence required
- Prefer a primary source from the organization. If none exists, use two reliable public sources before adding a sensitive label.
- Record the source, date checked, reviewer, wording, and next review date in moderation notes.
- Do not infer a political or religious label from audience, members, location, funders, or general civic activity alone.
- Use “not assessed” or no label when evidence is weak or the label would not help public discovery.
Public wording
- Use neutral wording that distinguishes verified facts from uncertainty.
- Do not use labels as endorsements, warnings, rankings, or personality judgments.
- Avoid left/right or partisan labels unless the organization uses them itself or the public record is clear.
- Do not publish internal sensitivity notes or private moderation reasoning.
Correction and disputes
Organizations and affected people can use the About contact route or legal notice route to ask for correction. Plausibly harmful disputed labels should be hidden or softened while a curator reviews the evidence. Small-count and re-identification risks should be checked before publishing named lists or membership signals around sensitive organizations.
