Storage and cookies

What the browser stores

A short notice about authentication, language preference, and external requests.

Kintrae does not currently use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking. A release check blocks known trackers until a separate consent and vendor assessment is completed.

Version 0.2 · 23 September 2026

Essential storage

  • kintrae_locale — Kintrae; remembers your language for one year; strictly necessary for the language choice you request.
  • sb-<project>-auth-token (sometimes split into numbered cookies) — Supabase; maintains and refreshes a signed-in session for up to 400 days, or until sign-out; strictly necessary when you choose to sign in.
  • kintra.discovery.locationFilter.v2 — Kintrae local storage; remembers your last discovery area until you clear browser data; a user-requested preference and not used for tracking.
  • kintrae:discovery-intro:v1 — Kintrae local storage; remembers that you dismissed the discovery introduction until you clear browser data; a user-requested interface preference.

External requests

Map tiles use OpenFreeMap and Cloudflare. Address and boundary searches pass through Kintrae to Photon or OpenStreetMap Nominatim, which receive the search text but not your browser's network address. Sign-in and data hosting use Supabase and, when selected, Google or Discord OAuth. Do not enter a confidential address in location search.

Your choices

You can clear the two saved preferences in your browser without losing your account or public access. Blocking authentication cookies prevents sign-in. Because Kintrae currently uses no optional tracking storage, it does not show a cookie-consent banner.
